Business information and events business Centaur, which is headquartered in London, says the total cost could rise to £6.75 million based on FEM’s profits in the 12 months ending June 2013.
UK-based FEM provides a web-based community for human resource professionals that are responsible for the management of expatriates within international corporates. It has a membership of 5,500 people globally.
Geoff Wilmot, CEO of Centaur, comments: ‘FEM serves a community which is closely linked to that of compensation and benefits professionals, which is a core market for Centaur.’
The acquisition is part of Centaur’s strategy to grow through purchasing strong sectoral links to an existing value professional market, according to a statement released by the company.
Brian Friedman, CEO of FEM, says that the deal will provide the infrastructure to grow its existing activities into new areas of operation.
He adds: ‘The synergies with Employee Benefits and Business Travel [Centaur brands] could not be a better fit for our aggressive expansion plans.’
