John Kearon, Chief Juicer/CEO of online research company Brainjuicer, says his best business decision was ‘getting off the corporate ladder’…

‘I think my best decision was to abandon my career! I joined a management scheme at a big corporate and stayed for six years. Then I realised it was about being good at politics, rather than being creative and that‘s just not me. I left to start my own business and people said, ‘You must be mad leaving a big blue-chip like that’, but if you’re a natural pioneer or adventurer it’s definitely the right thing to do. You take control of your destiny, but also fling yourself at the mercy of destiny; it’s precarious but exciting.’
