IT recruitment company GCS has announced its first acquisition by adding engineering specialist Talisman Technology Recruitment to its business for an undisclosed sum.

GCS chairman Chris Bartlett said the addition of Talisman’s staff to its existing engineering operations strengthens the company’s position in the sector and is part of its plans to expand its market presence.

Talisman managing director Ross Williams added: “Building Talisman from the ground up has been an enjoyable challenge and I’m exceptionally proud of the niche we carved ourselves in the engineering recruitment marketplace.”

GCS received tax and strategic financial advice from Chris Lee, head of business tax at James Cowper.

Lee, who was supported by corporate finance and audit partners Nick Rogers and Alex Peal, said the firm has been advising GCS for several years, and the Talisman acquisition is an important step in consolidating its position as one of the UK’s leading IT recruitment providers.

“We are now working with Chris Bartlett on the integration of Talisman into GCS,” he added.
