Woking-based Valiant Petroleum Plc has agreed to acquire Nor Energy UK, a unit of Norwegian company Nor Energy AS, for up to £3.6 million. The transaction is contingent on the Causeway Field achieving first oil.

Japanese oil explorer Inpex Corp and US energy firm Apache have acquired BHP Billiton. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Aerospace giant BAE Systems has acquired Advanced Ceramics Research, a US producer of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), for £10.6 million in cash.

Connecticut-based private equity firm Olympus Partners has acquired plastics manufacturer Holopack International from the Hansen Corporate Group for an undisclosed sum. Holopack has been renamed Ritedose Corporation.

Thatcham-based technology firm Applinet Plc has merged with Theale-based Unified Group, and the combined entity will trade as Proximity Communications. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Opal, a provider of communication services, has acquired telecoms company, The Airtime Group, a subsidiary of CANISP Plc, for £752,360 in cash. The transaction is subject to shareholder approval.
