The government’s Aspire fund, a £12.5 million risk capital fund which invests in businesses led by women, and hedge fund manager Stanley Fink have backed the West Midlands company during the latest fundraising round. The investment follows the appointment of Geoff Squire, chairman of data company Kognitio and former CEO of software provider Oracle Europe, as chairman of the Everyclick board in November.

According to an Everyclick statement, the funding will help pay for the development of a computer desktop application that gives a portion of a customer’s online spend to a selected charity. More than 60 UK charities, including Starlight Children’s Foundation, National Trust, Tommy’s The Baby Charity and Breast Cancer Campaign have signed up for the application, which is in a pilot phase after launching in December. Polly Gowers founded the company in 2005.
