London-headquartered law firm Eversheds has made a move East with a merger involving a Middle Eastern law consortium.

The deal with KSLG will see Eversheds treble in size in the region. KSLG are to fully integrate into Eversheds but retain the name Eversheds KSLG.

KSLG is a consortium of law firms Dhabaan & Partners, Khasawneh & Associates and Sonad Law Group.

According to a statement, the merger will give Eversheds KSLG an ‘unrivalled’ geographic coverage in the Middle East.

Nasser Ali Khasawneh, founding partner of KSLG and managing partner of Eversheds KSLG Dubai office, comments: ‘The vision behind KSLG was to provide clients with a regional practice that could cover work throughout the Middle East with quality, efficiency and a level of service excellence that was consistent in every office of the group.

The merger will give Eversheds KSLG offices in Abu Dhabi, Amman, Baghdad, Doha, Dubai and Riyadh.

Chief executive of Eversheds, Bryan Hughes says that the Middle East continues to be an exciting, dynamic market.

Hughes adds: ‘We have been looking to establish a region-wide offering for some time and importantly with a firm that is totally aligned to our ambitions and values.’

He predicts that KSLG’s reputation and local knowledge will strengthen Eversheds’ international services and create a strong platform for growth.

Chris Jobson, managing partner of the Middle East, adds: ‘The merger reflects natural evolution and cements a strong and long-standing relationship.’

The deal follows Eversheds’ recent advisory role in the £75 million funding package for JD Sports Fashion.
