Engineering design service in Series A round

Dezineforce, a provider of web-based engineering design tools, has raised a Series A round of £1.8 million.

Investors include Dr Steve Garnett, the chairman of Salesforce.com and a member of Dezineforce’s board, as well as Cambridge-based venture capital (VC) firm IQ Capital Partners and digital media investor DN Capital.

The money will allow the company to target the aerospace, civil engineering, architecture, renewable energy and automotive markets. CEO Peter Collins also plans to recruit operational, customer services and sales staff.

Garnett claims the company’s service ‘halves the cost of computer-aided engineering’ by reducing upfront investment in hardware and software.
