Environmental Technologies Fund, the London-based cleantech investor, has committed $15 million (£9.4 million) of growth capital investment to sustainability management software provider Enablon.

The Series A financing will fund Enablon’s further expansion across Europe, North America and Asia, along with increased product research and development.

The Paris-based company provides software solutions that make organisations more sustainable by improving the reporting and management of their environmental, health and safety performance, reducing their energy and carbon footprint, and streamlining business processes. It counts more than 250 global companies as clients including Accenture, Nike and American Airlines.

In April, the Carbon Disclosure Project, a not-for-profit organisation that collects climate change data from thousands of companies and operates the only global climate change reporting system, accredited Enablon’s software.

Enablon chief executive Dan Vogel comments, ‘The Environmental Technologies Fund’s investment will help us accelerate the pace of our global expansion, drive forward the advancement of our products and underlying technology, support new cloud-computing initiatives, and maintain excellence in customer service and support.’

In addition to its headquarters in Paris, Enablon has its North American base in Chicago and offices in Houston, London, Madrid and Montreal. Through its partnership network, Enablon operates in more than 130 countries.

Environmental Technologies Fund is a growth capital fund that invests in cleantech companies in Europe, whose products and services deliver a significant environmental and economic benefit. The European Communities Growth and Employment Initiative supports the fund.
