Electra Kingsway has supported a management buy-in at market research house FDS, providing finance for the deal via its first and second VCT funds. The new management team – headed by erstwhile Future Foundation boss Charlotte Cornish and IKEA veteran Richard Hepburn– also invested in the transaction.
The deal was completed through acquisition vehicle Munro Global and the aim is to now grow the venture both organically and via acquisition.
Janet Weitz, who founded FDS in 1972 and oversaw its development into a £6 million revenue company, remains on board as a non-executive director. Electra’s Mark Speeks has assumed a similar role.
