An Aberdeenshire-based group has completed its fourth acquisition this year in a bid to build an international energy services business.

Senergy bought the consulting and technology business of renewable energy specialist Econnect for an undisclosed sum as part of this strategy.

The deal follows its earlier acquisitions of Floyd & Associates, Isis Energy and Leading Edge Advantage.

Northumberland-based Econnect connects renewable energy projects across the world, specialising in wind power plant commissioning.

The terms of the deal include Econnect’s interests in Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, and adds additional expertise and new technologies to Senergy’s offering.

The acquired business will now trade as Senergy Alternative Energy and its 50-strong team will be led by Econnect’s founder, Guy Nicholson.

Senergy operates through five divisions: oil and gas, alternative energy, investments, technology and geo-engineering. It has offices in Guildford, Bath and London.
