eCommera sells stake to WPP

E-commerce platform provider eCommera has raised funding from marketing services group WPP.

eCommera has raised a total of £7.5 million over the past 12 months, including the investment from WPP, which has helped it expand internationally.

Other investors over the past year include existing backer West Coast Capital and newcomers Frog Capital and ePlanet Ventures.

Andrew McGregor, CEO of eCommera, says, ‘We are working with WPP companies in many markets to realise the opportunity that e-commerce represents from the global retailers and brands they work with.’

Mark Read, CEO of WPP Digital, comments, ‘In most markets, more than 100 per cent of retail growth is coming from online channels, so we are seeing strong demand for ecommerce solutions from our retail clients.

‘At the same time, many non-retail clients, like packaged goods companies, are looking at building direct channels to their consumers.’

eCommera was founded in 2007 and its clients include House of Fraser, Hamleys and Space NK.
