Two companies have received a second round of funding by the South Yorkshire Investment Fund (SYIF). Televideo and Interior Surfaces, which are both based in Sheffield, raised £75,000 and £20,000 respectively.

Founded in 1976, Televideo is one of the UK’s largest independent outside broadcast companies, which covers events including British Superbikes and Premier League football.

The company used the funding to buy a high-definition outside broadcast unit. Managing director of Televideo Paul Scivill says that ‘the high definition unit is the only one in the North of England and is at the cutting edge of technology’.

Televideo previously received £50,000 from SYIF when it acquired CBF Media February 2003 for £1 million.

Interior Surfaces, which sells work surfaces and washroom systems for businesses, domestic customers and public institutions such as schools and hospitals, previously received £50,000 from SYIF in June 2006.

The company has used the additional funding from SYIF to employ three more staff and aims to take on nine more in the next two years. Moreover, investment from Business Link South Yorkshire and the Design Council has allowed Interior Surfaces to launch a new branding campaign.
