Manchester-based Devilfish Gaming has acquired the player base of Hungarian online poker room Paramin Poker for an undisclosed sum.

The players from Paramin Poker, which was owned by online poker portal Poker Akademia and operating on digital entertainment network Entraction, have been transferred to DevilfishPoker.com.

Hungary is one of the fastest growing poker markets and Eastern European countries have recently seen a rapid surge in the popularity of the game.

Paul Barnes, CEO of Devilfish Gaming, commented: “This is a terrific step forward for Devilfish. This acquisition adds a significant number of players to Devilfishpoker.com and we have also entered a new affiliate agreement with Poker Akademia, which will be mutually beneficial to both companies.”
