Insurance broker Smart & Cook, part of the AXA insurance group, has increased its offering with the purchase of Talbot Insurance Brokers for an undisclosed sum.

Founded in 1961 by its eponymous founder Peter Talbot, the firm provides commercial and personal insurance services. Its smaller financial services arm offers advice for corporate and personal clients on pensions, mortgages, savings and investments. The target firm’s management team and 40 staff will be retained as well as the name.
