IT managed services provider Concorde has acquired the IT security company Control Key, and is planning more deals in the next 12 months.

Colin Meakin, chief executive at Concorde says: ‘With the acquisition of Control Key we will further enhance our security services portfolio as well as being able to offer our own managed services to their customers.’

Meakin adds that the deal gives Leeds-based Concorde a presence in North West England. The company is planning further acquisitions in the South East.

Lancashire-based Control Key, which counts Aardman Animations and Everton Football Club among its clients, provides hardware and software products and support services.

David Parkinson and Kieron Sykes, the directors of Control Key, will remain with the business following the sale.

Concorde is an IT security, data storage and service provider, but the acquisition will expand its range to include payment processing compliance, firewall security and two factor authentication. The company was established in 1985 and currently has over 100 staff across the UK. Its clients include Reuters, Corus and West Yorkshire Police.
