Carbon neutral cab company Climatecars has secured £200,000 from Clydesdale bank to expand the company’s fleet.

The funding will enable Climatecars to add a further 45 hybrid cars, which have both a conventional fuel engine and a bank of electric batteries, to its fleet using the line of credit from the bank.

Founded in 2007 by then 22-year-old Nicko Williamson, the business provides an environmentally friendly alternative to black cabs or other taxi services.

Williamson comments, ‘The new vehicles will allow us to further grow our client base and offer a better service to existing customers with faster response times around London.’
