Click A Taxi is the latest taxi app to hail investment

Taxi booking network Click A Taxi has announced a second angel funding round of $1.5 million (£944,000).

Click A Taxi, based on Copenhagen, Denmark, was founded in 2010 and claims to be the world’s largest network of taxi companies, assisting with ‘easy, safe and quality’ taxi booking to more than 230 million people in Europe.

The business has also been working closely with taxi companies in the UK in an attempt to bring ‘quality’ taxi service to more than 150 towns and cities in the UK.

CEO and founder Søren Halskov Nissen says, ‘We launched our first product, the free consumer app, only 12 months ago and we want to meet the growing demand for quality taxi transport across the world.

‘Our latest round of funding will allow us to grow even faster and deliver an even better service to our users.’

New investor, serial entrepreneur Tommy Ahlers adds, ‘My experience from building ZYB and Podio taught me just how important it is to have a great idea, for a big market with a team that can do it – fast.

‘Click A Taxi ticks these boxes and is a great example of applying clever digital solutions to an old industry. I am very excited to be part of this venture.’

Also onboard for investment is Claus Moseholm, who co-founded branded entertainment distributor goviral in 2003 and sold to AOL in 2011 for $96.7 million.
