The group bought Boundary Care, a provider of domiciliary care services primarily to Lancashire County Council, for £300,000 in cash.

Colne-based Boundary complements Claimar’s operations in Lancashire and strengthens its ties with the local council, as well as introducing the group to new business in the region.

This deal follows Claimar’s acquisition last month of Lynks Care as part of its development plan. Other deals in this strategy include buying Acorn Home Care, Jemma Care, Surecare Community Services and BR Care Group.

Claimar’s chief executive, Mark Hales, said this will not be the last of the group’s acquisitions: ‘There continues to be a strong pipeline of further acquisition opportunities. The group is in discussions with a number of possible vendors and we are confident that a number of these will lead to further transactions taking place.’

Boundary, which was established two years ago, employs 37 members of staff delivering more than 1,000 hours of care each week.

In the year to September 2006, its audited accounts show a £176,000 pre-tax profit from a turnover of £646,000.
