Pentech Ventures and Octopus Investments have invested £900,000 in a Series A funding for information security company CertiVox.

Headquartered jointly in London and San Francisco, and founded in March 2009, the company develops and markets technology and services that enable computer users to make online documents more secure.

The funds will be used to develop and bring to market CertiVox’s technology, which aims to secure email and transferred files, prevent data leaks, implement digital rights management, and launch comprehensive audit controls over secure information exchanges.

CertiVox chief executive Brian Spector also announced the appointment of Albert Sisto, a former chief operating officer for RSA and chairman, president and CEO for Phoenix Technologies, to the board of directors as executive chairman.
