Community care provider Carewest has expanded its operations across the northwest after buying Rochdale firm Carewatch in a deal funded by The Royal Bank of Scotland.

Carewest’s financial adviser was APL Accountants LLP, which structured the deal and managed the due diligence review.

The firm’s team was led by Peter Hodges, who said APL has advised Carewest for several years. “From our perspective this was a smoother transaction than is often achieved. Even though issues arose, the purchaser and vendor showed a willingness to iron out problems and restructure the deal as necessary with the bankers being supportive of changes in structure.

“Following this acquisition, Carewest now looks set to go from strength to strength, increasing its role in the provision of care services in northern England,” he added.
