High temperature sensor developer Oxsensis has raised £3 million in a fundraising round including new investor Carbon Trust Investments.
Existing investors Albion Ventures, Seven Spires, Frog Capital and Rainbow Seed Fund also participated in the fundraising for the Oxfordshire-based business, together with several private individuals.
Oxsensis’ sensors measure heat and pressure in temperatures over 1,000°C, making them suitable for use in gas turbines, for example in power stations. The technology also has applications in the aerospace and automotive industries.
Peter Linthwaite, managing partner of Carbon Trust Investments, describes Oxsensis as a ‘great British company that has both significant commercial and carbon-saving potential’.
The company secured its first major round of investment in 2007, when it raised £4.4 million.
