Insurance Dialogue, a specialist in the over-50s market, has been acquired by underwriter Equity Insurance Group for an undisclosed sum.

The deal provides an exit for Bridges Ventures, the investment firm with a social mission, which first backed Insurance Dialogue in 2005. Since then the company has built a new call centre in Bournemouth and expanded its range of products.

Philip Newborough, chief executive of Bridges Ventures, says, ‘David Holden, the founder and CEO of [Insurance Dialogue], has developed this business from a concept to a large and growing specialist insurance broker with a loyal customer base.’

Holden had previously managed similar businesses for Saga and RIAS.
