Investment firm Bridgepoint Development Capital (BDC) has acquired building energy management company BAS by backing a management buy-out of the business.

Brin Sheridan, managing director of BAS, says: ‘With an investor such as BDC alongside management and the original founders, we now have the support and capital to accelerate our growth aspirations.’

Greater Manchester-based BAS provides services to building owners to monitor and control energy usage via computer-based control systems. The company was founded in 2006 following a buy-out from Siemens.

BDC is a part of the international private equity group Bridgepoint, and provides funding of up to €150 million (£127 million) to businesses based in the UK, France and the Nordic region.
