Trowers & Hamlins has advised pet care business Bob Martin (UK) on the acquisition of the pet and animal healthcare business of Seven Seas, in a deal that will strengthen Bob Martin’s position in the UK.

The deal, completed for an undisclosed sum, comprises more than 100 products including brands such as the nutritional supplement and healthcare ranges Vetzyme, Kitzyme, Vitapet and Super Solvitax. Manufacturing of these products will be transferred from Seven Seas’ Hull operations to Bob Martin’s manufacturing site in Yatton, North Somerset this year.

Bob Martin managing director Savi Madan commented: “This acquisition complements our existing portfolio. It will also strengthen our distribution in the independent pet trade sector where we already have strong links through our other brands.”

Jennie Gubbins, head of corporate at Trowers, led the legal team. Gubbins said of the acquisition: “We are delighted to have worked on this deal with and for our long-standing client, Bob Martin.”
