MicroLink, an Estonian full-service IT firm, has acquired IT Koolitusekeskuse, the largest Baltic IT training firm for EEK22 million (£1 million). The deal provides an exit for private equity groups BaltCap Management and Niin Invest.

The transaction will enable MicroLink to provide training and consultation services to new clients and partners. The acquirer also aims to capitalise on IT Koolitusekeskuse’s in-house expertise and reputation within the marketplace.

BaltCap has a total of €130 million under management for mid-market buy-out and expansion capital investments in the Baltic States. Paul Varul Attorneys-at-Law provided legal counsel to the vendors, and has a longstanding relationship with the firm and its subsidiaries having assisted in several M&A transactions in Estonia.

The Paul Varul team was led by Ramon Rask, attorney, who said: “The main challenge as always is to find balance between the interest of the seller to get extensive warranties about the present/future situation of the company and interest of the seller to make a clear and unattended exit.”
