Atkins buys Space Partnership

Atkins, providers of professional, technologically-based consultancy and support services, has acquired Intelligent Space Partnership, an independent specialist consultancy providing advice and analysis to the transport, healthcare and urban development sectors.

The acquisition will broaden Atkins’ service offering in transport planning, urban planning and design, masterplanning, and the design of transport interchanges, airports, major events planning and complex buildings.

Intelligent Space directors Dr Jake Desyllas and Elspeth Duxbury will lead on pedestrian movement for Atkins, working as part of the transport planning management team.

Commenting on the acquisition the directors said: “The acquisition represents the next exciting step in the development of Atkins’ market leading pedestrian consultancy and, with its market penetration and investment backing, it offers the chance to considerably expand the scale of services provided worldwide.”
