Ometria, a technology company which aids online retailers in growing quicker by drawing in customers through analysing visitor behaviour, is charged for growth following a seed funding round.
Based in London and set up at the beginning of 2013, the business comprises of a team of serial entrepreneurs and its technology is compatible with e-commerce platforms such as Magento, Shopify and Hybris.
Joining the funding round are Alistair Mitchell and Andy McLoughlin, the co-founders of Huddle, and Philip Wilkinson, who set up Kelkoo UK, before selling it to Yahoo!, and TimeOut acquired Keynoir.
The deal represents the first time Ometria has sought external equity investment, a $1.5 million (£900,000) sum of capital which will be used to develop its offering.

Ivan Mazour, founder and CEO of Ometria, comments, ‘Most mid-sized retailers understand how competitive e-commerce is, and how important it is to leverage every possible improvement to maximise their profits, but are forced to use outdated and unsuitable tools to track customer behaviour and product performance – normally web analytics and Excel.
‘This is why our platform has been built from the ground up by retailers, for retailers – giving our clients the ability to use segmented customer groups for their marketing, to use customer lifetime value to determine which channels are sending the best customers, and to get a clear picture on which products to merchandise to maximise profitability.’
Alongside Mazour, Ometria was set up by CFO Djalal Lougouey, one of the founding partners of Innova Kapital and Adnet Digital Media founders James Dunford-Wood (COO) and Alastair James (CTO). The business now has a second office in Moscow.
Also counting themselves as investors in the British business are Shutl COO and head of marketing Sean Cornwell and Guy Westlake, what3words founder and CTO Michael Dent and Beacon Capital founders Kevin Chong and Steve Mountain.
