Teachable.net attracted money from Chris Paterson, former chairman of Macmillan Educational Publishing, and Ben Barton, co-founder of primary school publisher Rising Stars. Also investing are Bill Liao, the founder of social networking website XING, and Divyang Mistry, who established web and TV production company CTN Communications.

Edward Upton, founder of Teachable, says, ‘This new money will enable us to refine the features [of] Teachable.net and market the resources to schools across the UK and beyond.’

The company was advised in the fundraising by business angel network Envestors.
