Cheshire-based wound care group Advanced Medical Solutions (AMS) has acquired the remaining 50.6 per cent of the shares in Corpura B.V. from Recticel, its joint venture partner, for up to €2.3 million (£2.1 million).

The joint venture was formed in May 2008 when AMS paid €2.5 million (£2.3 million) for 49.4 per cent of Corpura. Dr. Don Evans, CEO of AMS, said the deal validated the strategic rationale for the joint venture and provided new technologies to the company’s wound care offering.

Established in 2004, Corpura manufactures specialised foam for medical purposes. The Netherlands-based company employs 15 people and generated revenue of €3.3 million in 2008.

In the six months to June, AMS reported turnover of £9.9 million and operating profits of £900,000.
