AMETEK acquires Muirhead Aerospace

AMETEK, a global manufacturer of electric motors and electronic instruments, has acquired UK-based Muirhead Aerospace, a manufacturer of motion technology products for the aerospace and defense markets.

  • Npower Renewables, the UK subsidiary of RWE Innogy, has acquired a 50 per cent stake in Greater Gabbard Offshore Winds from Scottish and Southern Energy Plc. No further details were disclosed
  • Cash machine business Cashbox has acquired the remaining 28 cash machine sites from MyATM. This is further to the 141 sites acquired in July. The terms of the deal were undisclosed.
  • Tine BA, a Norwegian milk co-operative and the makers of Jarlsberg cheese, has acquired Ilchester Cheese, an English producer and exporter of speciality cheeses, for an undisclosed sum.
  • Education technology group RM has acquired US specialist education technology business Computrac for up to $8.0 million (£5 million). Computrac is a provider of interactive classroom technology services to schools in the Southeast of the United States.
  • IPSO Ventures Plc, an intellectual property commercialisation specialist, has acquired Cambridge Meditech in a cash-and-shares deal worth £50,000. Cambridge Meditech has technology that can detect infection in wounds.
  • Depa, a provider of interior contracting services, has acquired Möbelwerkstätten Vedder GmbH, an interior design and fit-out specialist for yachts based in Germany. The terms of the deal were undisclosed.
  • Spirax-Sarco Engineering Plc, a leader in the control and use of steam and in peristaltic pumping, has acquired PAK Machinery in the UK through its Watson-Marlow subsidiary. The £500,000 deal will be financed from the group’s existing cash resources.
  • New oil group Reservoir Group has acquired London-based InfoAsset to create a new data management division within the group. The terms of the deal were undisclosed.
  • Imtech, a technical services provider in Europe, has acquired Swedish competitor NVS, which serves the domestic and Norwegian markets. The purchase price of €235 million (£189.3 million) will be financed through a loan secured from a syndicate of banks
  • Restaurant and takeaway franchise Pizza Hut has purchased the Godfather’s Pizza chain and is set to take the title as the largest pizza operator in Ireland. The terms of the deal were undisclosed.
  • Parker Hannifin Corporation, a global leader in motion and control technology, has acquired Aqua Pro, a manufacturer of reverse osmosis filtration systems for military, commercial and pleasure marine applications. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Deals in the pipeline

  • Japanese electronics conglomerate Fujitsu will buy Siemens AG‘s 50 per cent stake in their PC joint venture for €450 million (£361.8 million), aiming to boost its presence in Europe.
  • Building materials business Lafarge is selling its Cement and Aggregates & Concrete activities in Italy to family-owned Sacci for €290 million (£233.1 million).
  • Sartorius Stedim Biotech, a biotech supplier, has signed an agreement to acquire the Switzerland-based technology company Wave Biotech. The deal comes on the back of a period of productive collaboration. The terms of the agreement were undisclosed.
  • Temenos, a provider of integrated banking systems, has announced that it is acquiring Lydian Associates, a UK-based provider of business intelligence software for the banking sector. The acquisition price was not disclosed.
