Advanced Computer Software buys CareSys

Advanced Computer Software Group has acquired CareSys Software for £2.6 million.

Founded in 1995, Surrey-based CareSys produces computer software for care providers such as care homes and housing associations. The company’s products are used by more than 170 community and care providers across the UK. Caresys currently has a turnover of £1.8 million.

Vin Murria, chief executive of Advanced, comments: ‘The acquisition of CareSys strengthens our product portfolio in the community care sector and brings new clients that could benefit from other products and services provided by the Advanced Group.’

Surrey-based Advanced Computer Software is an AIM-listed software and IT services company. Operating through three divisions, Business Solutions, Health & Care and Advanced 365, the company’s products focus on patient care, accounting and business management. The company also delivers back office systems for NHS trusts and local authorities.

In the year to February 2010, Advanced Computer Software declared a pre-tax profit of £4.2 million on a turnover of £30.2 million. The acquisition is expected to be immediately earnings enhancing.
