Oracle, which will trade as Exxell, supplies more than 400 temporary staff each week to businesses across the UK. The company is projected to contribute £14 million of additional revenue.

Matt Southall, founder and managing director of Acorn, said: ‘This comes at a good time for the Acorn Group. Over the last two to three months we have bucked the general trend in our sector and seen improvement in our overall performance and profitability.’

The deal is Acorn’s third takeover in as many years, following the acquisitions of Advance Personnel and Concept Staffing, and takes the Newport-based company closer to achieving its aim of generating a turnover of £100 million by the end of 2009.
