Frutarom to carve into Italian meat blends business

Round-up of today's M&A deals.

Frutarom is to acquire a majority share of Chr Hansen, a savoury flavours and processed meats company, in a £21.7 million deal.

The move will give Frutarom far greater presence in Italy in line with the companies plans for growth. Frutarom said its presence in Italy had been ‘slight’ and the deal ‘will serve as a platform on which to expand into this important market’.

Frutarom has acquired several European companies in the past few years, including two companies earlier this year, East Anglian Food Ingredients in the UK and Rieber Industrial Spices Savory in Norway.
