Publicis Groupe makes another acquisition

Communications company Publicis Groupe is to acquire Taiwan-based Interactive Communications, a public relations and social media consultancy, which will be renamed ICL MSL.

The deal, for an undisclosed amount, is Publicis Groupe’s second acquisition in the past week after its purchase of Holler, a London-based digital creative agency. ICL will be aligned under MSLGROUP, its communications, PR and events network.

Founded in 1998 and employing 30 people, ICL provides communications campaigns combining public relations, social media and event experiences. It has worked with companies such as Coca-Cola and Sony.

Olivier Fleurot, chief executive officer of MSLGROUP comments: ‘This new addition reflects our commitment to provide our local and multinational clients with a best-in-class team in Taiwan.’

Under the terms of the deal, managing director Mario Fang and chair Cindy Chou, founders of the company, will continue to lead ICL MSL.

Chou comments: ‘Now that we are officially joining MSLGROUP, we will be focused on expanding our role in the Greater China team to service key clients and deepening our expertise in social media marketing.’

The acquisition of ICL is Publicis Groupe’s fourth in Asia in the past five months. MSLGROUP has eight offices and 225 staff across China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
