Private equity firm ISIS has invested £6.5 million into the management buy-out (MBO) of donation processing business Valldata.

Valldata chief executive Hamish Horton and chief operating officer Martin Kirk, who were shareholders in the business, led the purchase from the private investors who owned the company previously. The management team will have a 60 per cent stake in the business following the deal.

Wiltshire-based Valldata helps charities and not-for-profit organisations manage and deliver fundraising campaigns. It uses its technology and IT systems to handle large volumes of transactions, including both paper-based donations and donations made on the telephone and online.

ISIS made the investment through its Baronsmead VCTs and the equity injection will be used in part to develop further integrated products and services, particularly online.

Horton comments that the deal will allow the company to ‘accelerate its strategic vision in delivering an integrated fundraising services-led business for the UK charity sector’.
