Sports equipment manufacturer Stuart Canvas is to acquire JMS Cricket.

Stuart Canvas, manufacturer of sports, commercial and industrial covers, has announced the acquisition of JMS Cricket.

Following the agreement, both companies will continue to trade under their existing names.

Stuart Canvas’s new 25,000 sq ft premises in Warrington will become the principal manufacturing site in a bid to increase the efficiency of both businesses’ manufacturing processes.

Ed Stoddart, chief executive of Stuart Canvas, says the acquisition will allow it to capture more of the cricket market.

JMS Cricket provides mobile covers, sightscreens, mobile cricket nets, pitch protectors, slip catching cradles, artificial wickets and field equipment.

Stuart Canvas has been manufacturing PVC and cotton tarpaulins for the sports and haulage industries for more than 35 years.
