A developer of software for creating websites from Photoshop designs has raised $2.6 million (£1.8 million) for its US and UK launch.
BaseKit raised the money in a Series A round involving Eden Ventures and UK government-backed NESTA. This follows a round of seed funding in April 2009.
The London-based company has 20,000 registered users who signed up to the beta version of its platform.
Juan Lobato, CEO of BaseKit, describes the software as ‘the missing link between Photoshop and a live [web]site’, claiming, ‘BaseKit can become the standard way for web professionals to get their creations online’.
The company was set up by Simon Best, Richard Best and Richard Healey in 2008.
