Fronted by former Murray Johnstone Private Equity managing director Jonathan Diggins, EV is one of a number of firms investing in Plant Impact, which has conceived a variety of safe solutions for boosting crop yields and plant health.

The company intends to use the cash to fund its expansion plans, by investing in product development, marketing and distribution.

As part of the deal Martin Robinson, chief executive of Lloyd Street Private Equity, joins Plant Impact’s board as chairman alongside former Holiday Break finance director Gordon Harman.
