Dallaglio scores as sales director

Former England rugby star and London Wasps captain Lawrence Dallaglio has been appointed sales director at call centre business The Listening Company. This comes two years after Dallaglio started working with the company as its director of motivation, tasked with advising the business and its employees on motivational initiatives. Neville Upton, CEO of The Listening Company, says, ‘Lawrence has made a big contribution over the past two years, not only to the business as a whole, but also to the individual members of staff.’

Brady’s bunch move to West Ham

Businesswoman Karen Brady has been appointed vice chair of newly acquired West Ham. Brady secured the position after David Sullivan, former Birmingham City owner and pornography publisher, and David Gold, owner of high street sex shop Ann Summers, acquired 50 per cent of the club. She will become the first woman to run a Premier League football club. Brady recently became one of Alan Sugar’s new sidekicks in The Apprentice, replacing Margaret Mountford. She is best known for her appointment as MD of Birmingham City at the age of 23.

Sayers head honcho at AIC

Ian Sayers has been appointed director general at the Association of Investment Companies (AIC). Carol Ferguson, chairman of the AIC, says, ‘On behalf of the board, I am delighted that Ian has accepted this position as he has done an outstanding job for the AIC.’ Sayers joined the AIC in November 1998 as technical director and was promoted to deputy director general in 2005. He has been acting director general of the AIC since Daniel Godfrey left the association in July 2009. Prior to this he worked as a tax manager at Ernst & Young.
