Advanced Computer Software (ACS), a provider of software and IT services to the healthcare sector, has acquired India-based rival Oak Labs India for an undisclosed sum.

Bangalore-based Oak Labs specialises in software development for the local government, charity and health care sectors and employs 22 staff. Oak Labs generated sales of INR 40 million (£516,000) and an EBITDA of INR 2.2 million (£28,000) in the year to March.

Vin Murria, chief executive of ACS, said: ‘Oak Labs will significantly advance our research and development capability and will accelerate the development and roll out of new software products and enhancements to benefit our market and customers.’

The deal comes after ACS’ acquisition of StaffPlan in July and the reverse takeover of Adastra Software in July 2008. In the 14 months to February, the London-based company reported revenue of £7.3 million and pre-tax profits of £1.1 million.
