TD Waterhouse acquires OMX

Leeds-based stockbroker TD Waterhouse Investor Services (Europe) has agreed to acquire rival OMX Securities Services LLP for an undisclosed sum.


Leeds-based stockbroker TD Waterhouse Investor Services (Europe) has agreed to acquire rival OMX Securities Services LLP for an undisclosed sum.

Leeds-based stockbroker TD Waterhouse Investor Services (Europe) has agreed to acquire rival OMX Securities Services LLP for an undisclosed sum.

OMX Securities Services LLP offers business process services to institutional brokers, retail brokers and fund managers. The firm services 22 clients, on behalf of whom it manages in excess of £4 billion in assets for over 100,000 underlying client accounts. On completion of the deal, the company will trade as TD Waterhouse Corporate Services (Europe).

Angus Rigby, CEO of TD Waterhouse, said: ‘We are looking to build on [OMX’s] excellent platform, and to give the new TD Waterhouse Corporate Services (Europe) the backing it needs so that together we can deliver on our exciting expansion plans both in the UK and into Europe.’

TD Waterhouse has a platform catering to over 200,000 retail customers as well as supporting a number of joint venture partnerships. The company will continue to operate out of its current bases in Manchester and Leeds, while TD Waterhouse Corporate Services (Europe) will continue to operate out of its base in Birmingham.
