New Earth Solutions, a Dorset-based waste treatment and renewable energy company, has raised £17.5 million for its investment sub-fund in the fund’s first year.

The sub-fund, which is listed on the Channel Islands Stock Exchange, invests directly in New Earth’s facilities in the UK, and is managed by the Isle of Man-based Premier Group. It is currently invested in New Earth projects in the south of England.

Dave Whitaker, director of Premier, says the fund is seeing an increasing level of interest from financial advisers recommending it to their clients.

Adds Whitaker, ‘As the recession continues to impact negatively on equity and other asset markets, investors are seeking alternative products and recognise that essential infrastructure projects like waste management facilities can offer strong, long term returns.’

The minimum investment in the fund is £5,000 and it is available through the products of international life companies and SIPP providers. Its share price increased 12.1 per cent in the 12 months since its launch in July last year.
