• Reservoir Group has acquired Australia-based drilling tools maker Extreme Machining for an undisclosed sum
• US-based distributor of business products United Stationers, has completed the purchase of Emco Distribution for an undisclosed sum

• Irish supermarket group Superquinn has reportedly received six expressions of interest from potential bidders, including UK supermarkets ASDA and J Sainsbury
• Tegal Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of plasma etch and deposition systems, has announced an agreement with Alcatel Micro Machining Systems and Alcatel-Lucent to acquire their Deep Reactive Ion Etch for $5 million (£2.8 million)
