Precious gemstone and mineral mining firm Tsar Emerald Corporation is planning to join AIM later this month.

Vancouver-based Tsar Emerald is focused on mining, processing and selling emeralds, alexandrites and other precious gemstones and minerals sourced from the Malyshev mine in Western Siberia in Russia.

The company began production at the mine in October 2006 and aims to bring it back to its former capacity of about three million carats of emeralds a year.

Tsar Emerald will not be raising any capital as part of its admission and has not announced what its expected share price or market capitalisation will be. The company is scheduled to join AIM on June 19.

Nabarro Wells & Co is Tsar Emerald’s nominated adviser, while ODL Securities is the broker.
