Stock comparison site Stockomendation gets help from angels

Stockomendation will now begin to build out its sales and marketing presence in the UK and US following an undisclosed funding round.

Business angels experienced in the software and finance industries are coming together to back financial technology company Stockomendation.

Serving as what it describes as a ‘super search engine’, Stockomendation operates as an aggregator and comparison site for stock tips and recommendations on the British stock market.

It does this by collating tips from newspapers, websites and tipsters – then displaying it in real time. Its service has a partnership with Thomson Reuters meaning users can access a free UK stock market company search.

Company CEO Paul Roberts says, ‘The website currently displays stock tips from over 140 UK financial journalists, share prices, market information, tracking tools and much more is built into its platform.

‘It is the “go-to” website for anyone investing in the stock market and for tipsters and researchers wanting to connect with private investors.’

Prior to becoming involved with Stockomendation, Roberts founded cloud business Clunk Click and then sold it to Risc Group in 2008.

Through the new investment deal, WorldPay founder and former CEO Nick Ogden is joining as non-executive chairman to help with innovation and development.

Ogden says, ‘In Stockomendation, Roberts has created an exciting company with global potential. Big data and the internet are finally levelling the playing field for the private investor and Stockomendation’s platform could be transformational for private investors.

‘I look forward to working with Paul and the team to develop further applications and partners for Stockomendation and make this a truly global business.’
