7Safe purchased to boost cyber security

London-headquartered PA Consulting Group has purchased 7Safe as part of its plans to enhance its cyber security service.

7Safe specialises in security risk assessment computer forensics and allows PA Consulting to offer an end-to-end cyber security service.

Jon Moynihan, executive chairman at PA Consulting, says that 7Safe ‘are our kind of people’.

Cambridge-based 7Safe was established in 2001 to initially provide security training courses and certifications. It then branched out into computer forensic investigation services, which involves discovering the misuse of theft of sensitive information.

Alan Philips, co-founder of 7Safe, comments: ‘Cyberspace offers great opportunities for businesses; we can help ensure that their operations are conducted safely and with resilience.

‘PA has an enviable market reputation for delivering cyber security solutions.’

Neira Jones, head of payment security at Barclaycard, adds: ‘Barclaycard and 7Safe have been working together for over four years, ensuring the security of online payments around the world from all of our global partners.’

PA Consulting has offices in Europe and Scandinavia as well as the US and Asia Pacific. It employs 2,000 people and has customers including Thomson Reuters and ING Investment Management.
