3i and Benchmark Capital Europe have joined forces to back OmPrompt, a provider of semantic integration solutions, in a £5 million series A fundraising.

Helmed by experienced CEO and President Brian Bolam, OmPrompt has developed a “neutral messaging” service that translates information from any communications device to another, covering data, voice and fax devices. The technology is intended to solve the problem of incompatibility between devices, thus speeding up supply chain processes.

Having already gained clients including Kimberly-Clark, the funding has allowed OmPrompt to complete customer acceptance testing and now expand the service offering and attract more clients.

By increasing “usability” and reducing cost for supply chain partners, the investors believe that OmPrompt’s solution will prove truly disruptive. ‘It has the capacity to drive technology adoption in a fundamentally new way,’ claims 3i’s Patrick Sheehan. ‘We are excited to work with the highly experienced management team to help grow OmPrompt’s business.’

‘We are very excited to be investing in OmPrompt and are confident that it will enjoy great success,’ adds George Coelho of Benchmark. ‘The combination of compelling technology and management make the company one to watch.’
