New figures from Thomson Reuters shows that five of the largest 15 European IPOs so far this year are Spanish. Homebuilder Aedas Homes just began trading today, adding to Spain’s list of large public companies.
Spanish IPOs total $4.3 billion in 2017, up 164 per cent from last year.
The five companies are spread across sectors, from the automotive industry to banking. They are: Gestamp Automocion, Prosegur Cash, Unicaja Banco, Neinor Homes, and Aedas Homes.
Only one UK company made the top 15 IPOs list; Biopharma Credit PLC, which floated at over US$762 million.
The rest of the companies that made the top 15 list hail from Switzerland, Italy, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Finland and Netherlands. The biggest IPO was Milanese Pirelli, which floated at US$2.7 billion.
