Take the quiz – What kind of leader are you?

We have created a quick quiz where SME business owners can find out what kind of leader they are using real-life entrepreneurs and politicians.

If you aspire to be a leader in your industry, it’s important to know what skills and qualities you can bring to the role, so that you can inspire your team.

Everyone is different- and there’s no one right way to be a good leader. From those who nurture talent, encourage debate and promote collaboration to high achievers who want to deliver big results, there are a number of ways you can lead a team.

Two-thirds of UK organisations are suffering from a shortage of highly effective leaders, according to a survey by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. A lack of interest and reluctance from employees to take up the leadership mantle is, apparently, proving to be a huge barrier to delivering the required improvements.

Leadership learning is very different for owner-managers compared to the typical employed manager. An employed manager sees leadership connected with a successful career, it’s an aspiration to be seen as an effective leader. They learn to lead, stimulated unconsciously by the abundance and variety of people they have around them to learn from, and in the variety of roles they need to take on.
